Les JERC expliquem el procés al Congrés d'autoritats locals i regionals del Consell d'Europa
La setmana passada, una representació de les Joventuts d'Esquerra Republicana, va participar a la delegació jove del Congres d'Autoritats Locals i Regionals del Consell d'Europa, a Estrasburg, Alsàcia.
Al Congrés, el delegat independentista va participar en diversos debats sobre la regionalització d'Europa, la Carta de les Llengües Regionals i Minoritàries, o la crisi dels refugiats. Les principals conclusions d'aquests van ser la necessitat d'acomodar les nacions sense estat, les regions i minories en el si dels estats actuals, tot i que es constata que la modificació de fronteres per la via democràtica ha de deixar de ser un tabú. Altrament, el Congrés va fer especial èmfasi en la necessitat de signar i ratificar la Carta per part encara de molts estats membres del Consell d'Europa i la UE, especialment la República Francesa.
El Congrés d' Autoritats Locals i Regionals va ser sense cap mena de dubte, una excel·lent oportunitat per explicar la independència tant als delegats joves com als delegats estatals. Desenes d'informes del DiploCat van ser repartits per tal d'informar els congressistes sobre els darrers esdeveniments a Catalunya. Tot i això, cal constatar que el Congrés està totalment al corrent del procés, arribant a editar informes sobre el resultat de les darreres eleccions plebiscitàries i l'evolució del procés.
Des de les JERC, demanem al proper govern català que impulsi i incrementi l'activitat del DiploCat, amb l'objectiu de ser presents a tots aquells espais que ens permetin explicar el nostre punt de vista sobre el procés. Cal evitar la falta de representació independentista en tot tipus d'organismes internacionals, en tant que facilita a l'estat Espanyol explicar el seu punt de vista sobre aquest conflicte democràtic.
Last week, a delegation of the Left Republican Party of Catalonia Youth (JERC) took part in the youth delegation of the Congress of the Regional and Local Authorities of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, Elsass.
In the Congress, our Catalan youth delegate took part in different debates about regionalization processes in Europe, the Chart of the Regional or Minority Languages, and the refugee crisis. The main outcome of the debates, was the necessity to accommodate the regions, stateless nations and minorities inside the European states, even if the modification of boarders in a democratic way should no longer be considered a taboo. It's also important to highlight the emphasis that the Congress stressed in the signature and ratification of the Chart of the Regional or Minority Languages, especially for the French Republic, providing that a large number of European states still haven't done it.
The Congress, was also an excellent opportunity to explain to the other youth delegates, and the state delegates the Catalan independence process. Tens of informs of the Catalan Paradiplomatic Council (DiploCAT) were delivered, in order to explain the recent developments after the last plebiscitary elections. In any case, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities is totally aware of the process, including reports about the last 27 September elections, and the struggle of the pro-independence movement.
To conclude, the Youth of the Left Republican Party of Catalonia asks the next Catalan government to promote and increase the activities of the Catalan Paradiplomatic Council (DiploCAT), in order to be present in those spaces that allow us to explain our point of view of the situation. We must avoid the lack of representation of the pro-independence point of view in the international organisms as it allows the Spanish state to easily explain its version of this democratic conflict.
